The happenings of a very busy family....

I have not posted in a while and there really are no excuses...although we have been one busy family! I started my volleyball season the 2nd week in July, and have just finished it. We had a great season finishing as District Champs again this year and 3rd overall in Regions! I am very proud of all my girls and will miss our 7 seniors greatly next year!! Tyler took a break this fall from soccer..gasp, I know right?..to play football and he really liked it. He was the... wait for it wait for it...KICKER! and he did a wonderful job! He also got some time in as tail back, and tight end, and running back I believe..I know he kicked the ball, ran the ball and did some great blocking!!! He learned alot and had a great time with it. His team just won the Championship this Saturday 33-6!!! He is on the jump rope team again this year at school and is loving that also. He is a busy guy right now he was just voted president of the student council at his school, he is on the safety patrol, and has already started his song leading, and Bible reading lessons at church. He is a great little boy and he amazes me everyday... Emily Klair is loving gymnastics, she is learning to do cartwheels, hand stands, and has started work on front hand springs. She loves the balance beam (makes me a nervous wreck) and is making progress on the bars..she is quite the little monkey!! She did volleyball camp with me this summer and she did rather well for a 7 year old. She loves to read and has her nose in a book all the time!! She is still quite the drama queen (again still not sure where she gets that from)and is actually very funny...she is going to be doing puppets this year at lads to leaders. Her seizures are under control right now, she has been on two different medicines for the last few months and it seems to be the right meds for her. WE are very thankful everyday that goes by that she has not had a seizure!!! She is beautiful and kind and the most loving little girl I have ever met... Warren has been busy at work, but he is still the best dad in the whole world. I am thankful to have a great husband like him. I am looking forward to this time of year because for us it is the time we slow down and do not have soo much going on. I hope we can take some time for ourselves and go out on some dates...sometimes I miss having him all to myself!

2010 a new year a new beginning.....

The Robinson's have been busy people for the last 6 months of the year.
I made it through another season of volleyball, this was my 5th season. We won our district this year and had a great season. The girls were great and I am one proud coach let me tell you!!
Warren finally got his truck!! Whoo hoo I am so proud for him. It is a black Nissan Titan, 4 door, leather seats, dvd player, heated seats, the works....it was well worth the wait. He is very happy with it and it does help that he got a great deal on it.
Tyler is enjoying school, although we are sad that his teacher has had to quit teaching mid year because of health issues. We will miss her, she was a great teacher. He is doing great in school, and is (to my unliking!!) very liked by the girls..our phone rings off the hook sometimes. He is in 3rd grade people..way to young for this to be starting!! I have let him grow his hair out and although I will not admit it to him, I do like the way it looks even though you can't see his beautiful brown eyes as much. He is playing basketball this winter instead of indoor soccer, we all decided it was time to try something different. He has already been talking about soccer sign ups though, that boy loves that sport!!
Emily Klair is doing great too! She is now on 2 different medicines to help control her seizures, we had a little bit of trouble with them this year but they are under control as of right now. We are just praying that it stays this way. She is not playing or doing anything right now, we have asked and tried to get her to do something girly, dance, gymnastics, tumbling, anything?? but she is content with nothing..so we are too. She says she is going to play softball again so who knows we may be on the softball fields again this spring.
My extended family has went through some major changes this last part of the year and we are all coming out from the darkness with a better understanding of what family is and what family means. 2010 it's a new year with a new beginning......

Update on the family...

This picture just showed up on its own and I cant get it to go away!! argh I've been gone too long..sorry you will just have to see it twice!! hehehe
Well lets see where should I start??
I could start with the house project that seems never ending... and almost overwhelming that on some days I have started wishing why did I even start this?? Lets just leave it with this about the house if you were to "just stop by" I would tackle you before I let you in this house..but it does feel good to know that progress is being made even if not as fast as I would like.
Tyler is doing great he had his check up on his back in December and it did not move at all in 6 months so we do not even need to check on it again for another year. He is participating in Lads to Leaders this weekend at the Opryland hotel in Nashville and we are so excited to go have a mini vacation. He has worked really hard on the puppets, and photography, but it was like pulling teeth to get him to practice Bible bowl or his Bible reading...boys will be boys!! He FINALLY lost his first tooth a couple weeks ago!! He has been waiting for this day for a long time....so the tooth fairy paid her first visit to our house!!
Emily Klair is doing great in school. I am really proud of the progress she has made on this last report card. The girl is finally catching on and starting to read!! YAY! We are soo proud!! We were really worried about her...but it is like a light has went on and she gets it!! She is my tough one..not that Tyler is not tough but she is REALLY tough!! She is also my daredevil, jumping, flipping, standing, just being a monkey from any height on the monkey bars. Well she jumped from the top of the swing set at my mother in laws and broke her wrist....she got up shook it off and kept right one playing!! When she got home I knew something was wrong but all she would say is her arm hurt alittle...so I didn't take her to the Dr., then the next the morning when she still wouldn't really use it for certain things I decided it was time to get it checked out..even though she still said "no it doesn't hurt!" Well sure enough it was broke, crazy girl, I wish I had taken her that afternoon instead of making her wait all night, but really who knew as tough as she is??
They are both playing sports again this spring...Tyler is playing soccer..I know surprise surprise!! Emily Klair has decided she wants to try softball..so we are going to practice and she can throw the ball but until the wrist gets better nothing else! WE are hoping she gets the brace off this week..fingers crossed she is ready and so are we..that thing stinks!! yucky!!
Warren just celebrated his birthday!! I wish I could get him a new truck he deserves a new vehicle soo much but with the remodel on this house and the dream house right around the corner there is no way right now..we have looked and searched but it is just not in the cards right now...maybe soon!!

Leaving town...

Well, before the craziness that is school, volleyball, and soccer take over our lives for the next few months we have decided to take one last mini vacation to Kentucky Kingdom this weekend. I am looking forward to a little bit of fun in the sun and some good ole family time!!! Warren and I were talking about the last time we went to KK and what an event it was. It is funny now but at the time not so much... When we went last time the kids ages were Tyler-4 and Emily Klair-2 and we had a ball the second day..the first day however was a little bit stressful. We went with another family and us moms and the kids were going to stay at the water park while the dads went and had a blast riding the rides. Well, we get to the park and the guys being the gentlemen they are agreed to get us settled in before leaving for their fun day, so Warren went to buy swimmer diapers (I forgot ours in the car and we were all to lazy to go back and get them) the older kids were already in the water and the moms went to get there swimsuits on. I pulled out Emmy's swimsuit and told the other dad that when Warren got back here was her suit and that she was staying here...sitting in the chair next to him. Off we went to get our suits on, we get back and there sets Warren and the other dad, the swimsuit still where I left it and NO Emmy Klair. At first I thought they were playing a joke on me..but Warren knew it was not a joke and took off looking for her...we had been gone to the bathroom probably 20 minutes or so by the time we walked there ,waited, changed and walked back. The other mother took off looking for her while me and the other father panicked...we walked in the same small circle over and over and could not get it together. I was told to go tell a lifeguard that this happens all the time and they would radio her description and they would tell us what to do next...I could not move from my spot. It was the most terrified I have ever been. What had happened was she got up to follow us as we walked away and the other dad thought I had changed my mind and was taking her with me, I never knew she had gotten up and was following me, so her little legs did not keep up with us as we walked. So she lost us about halfway and just stood there,(I never heard if she was crying or not and I think it best if I do not know what she was doing/or how scared she probably looked) luckily she is so cute that a teenage girl and her boyfriend saw her just standing there and they watched her. When they realized that she was by herself they picked her up and took her to a security person. I can not express how much love I have for this person that I never met or will never get a chance to thank. Warren finally got to a lifeguard, and we found out that she was in the lost and found at the park. So Warren sprinted(I have not seen him move that fast in a very long time and do not think I have seen it since)and collected our lost item. Our daughter!!! We both know how blessed we are, and it has now become this story that we share and laugh about. From this story we have learned alot though, 1st Always know what your child is wearing (most moms do but dad do not really pay attention when it comes to the detail and they need to in case the mom freezes up like I did..) 2nd When leaving your child with someone other then your spouse make sure that your child really understands what they are to do..and always look behind you as you leave to make sure that they are not following you... 3rd Have a plan for everything...I doubt it would have made a difference in how I acted but I would like to think that it would have...I mean I did nothing but walk in a small circle saying over and over "she is gone she is gone, someone has her, she is gone" crying hysterical and not helping matters at all!! It all turned out ok and we are so blessed that it did, we laugh about it now and talk about it like it was not a big deal but I for one know that day took about 10 years off of my life....so please pray that this weekend is very uneventful!!!!

Just thought I would update...

Well we have had a very busy week this week...lets see Warren broke his thumb, playing goalie for the adult soccer team he is on. He stopped a goal but in doing so his thumb got pulled all the way back and it tore all the tendons and ligaments and as they were tearing it broke part of his bone with it out of his lower thumb joint(the one that connects the thumb to the hand) and is in a "cast thingy" (I've always been known for my technical terms..hehe) that he can take on and off to shower....(and good thing too because now he can still enjoy himself at the beach.. well sort of minus the pain!) This week was my follow up with the Dr. in Nashville that has been helping with my eyes since this last episode with my migraines...we have found out that they are worse then they were 6 weeks ago and that I have permanent nerve damage in my eyes (the nerves that control my pupils, and focusing) just from migraines...so I have to wear glasses and sunglasses (sometimes even inside) and try really hard to not strain my eyes!!! yeah right! He said my nerves and all really look like a patient that should be about 90-95 years old...my vision is slowly getting worse..but it is mainly my pupils that are causing the problem..it is like having your eyes dilated all the time...it has no control over amount of light it lets in and has trouble focusing on one thing then another. So I really am in a catch 22...the headaches caused the damage and now because of the damage it can cause more headaches!! go figure!! I took Emily Klair for her blood work today and she was such a big girl...she cried just a little bit till she saw the blood in the tube and said "hey that kinda looks purple..I like purple..Hallie likes purple too, that is our favorite color." The techs were laughing at her and they all thought she was such a big girl. I was very proud of her..can not wait to hear the results to know whether or not she can take this new medicine or not?? Tyler has been at football camp every morning this week. He has loved it and talks no stop about it for the rest of the day!! I love that he gets an opportunity to play without "really" playing. I am sorry, this momma loves football but she will not be letting her son play it..not with his missing L3 and L4 vertebrae (spina bidfa occulta) no way no how!!! My husband keeps telling me I will eat those words one day..but I doubt it!! We are all looking forward to leaving town on Saturday for a week...nothing but fun in the sun and family time. I will have a ton of pictures to post and a ton o' stories to share when I return. Please pray that we have safe travels and a uneventful vacation.

New medicine...

Emily Klair has been on so many different medicines since being diagnosed with seizures, you would think that changing it one more time would be not a big deal to us. We went to her peds. nuero. a couple weeks ago and he wanted to change up some of her medicine to see if we can get her a little better controlled, and because she is starting kindergarten in the fall, he seems to think she needs one that is also a mood stabilizer. She also has sensory integration dysfunction.

I like the medicine she is on now and think that it has done the best to control her, but he is the Dr. and that is what we pay him the big bucks for, right? So I agreed to try this new medicine...well we have been on it for two weeks and counting along with her old medicine still, and we have had two seizures this week...so I'm thinking "why am I messing with her medicine?" One of those seizures happened while we were swimming in a friends pool and luckily I was in the water with her. I have always worried about her having seizures when I am not with her but this latest one opened my mind to a world of thoughts and fears I had yet to think about, but as she is getting older there are new fears and concerns.

We have to go next week and get some blood work done to make sure that it is OK for her to take this new medicine...scary thought that I am giving her something that could be poisoning her! She is doing great with it and even reminds me that we have to take both...the kid is amazing at taking medicine (but then again she has been taking something everyday since she was just months old) This is one of the times in my life that I wonder if I am doing the right/best thing for her?? I mean I know she needs medicine to control the seizures but sometimes I feel like we are overdoing! (but then again she is still having the seizures so I guess we are not overdoing, right?)

Last day :(

Well, we just finished up the kids soccer season. Tyler's game was at 8:00 this morning. (whoever decided that 8:00 am was a good time to play soccer must be crazy!!) He loves soccer and is a natural at it...I love to watch him play. Every time he is out there I can't help but think how blessed we are that he is able to walk much less run fast and kick a soccer ball like a pro. I realize how different his life could have been and I am so very thankful!! Emily Klair was on the soccer field today but not sure what she was doing would have been considered "playing soccer"... more like running around watching. It is still fun to see her playing and laughing. Now the count down begins till the fall season. I just love the soccer season it is so fun for us. Warren made it home last night and it is sooo good to have him home. I love watching sissy run to him at the airport and give him a big hug...she is such a daddy's girl!! I think he missed us just as much as we missed him!

IT'S THE MOST WONDERFUL TIME OFTHE YEAR!!!!

I have found the older I get I still enjoy the most simple things in life...

My kids are out of school in this next week and I can not wait. I love this time of year...the excitement of no school, staying up late, no plans other then swimming and picnics in the park, getting together with friends for short (not to mention cheap) day trips somewhere fun!!

We have also started our count down to our beach trip we take every year...5 weeks from Fri and counting... We have been going with some of our good friends Kelly and Tammy Lancaster and their children for the past 3 years and we have a ball..the kids get along great and there is just good times all the way around.

I can remember as a teen getting out of school for the summer was one of the best feelings in the world...as a mother now that has school age children I feel the same way. My birthday was this month (may 4) and I am now 31 yrs old, I know I know ...I'm old...but I feel like a kid at this time of year!!

I think that is what I love the most about this time of year is there is no schedule, no time frame for projects/homework, nothing other then fun and every day is an adventure if you let it be!! I already have been working on a pirate treasure hunt, camo party/camp out, princess swim bash... and for my kids at church (teenagers..gotta love them) a survivor weekend.....oh how I love to play!!!

I was getting our calendar ready for the kids to count down the days till the beach and ran across some of the pics from our trip last year...thought I would post two of my favorites!!! The 1st pic I call "future heart breakers" Tyler is the one on the left with his serious look and Evan is on the right...they are 14 days apart..and the best of friends!! The 2nd picture I call..."my little beach diva" it is amazing to me how much she has grown since our trip last summer...

"scared of everything type of kid"

Tyler has not been himself since the dog attack. We will really could not put our finger on it but just knew that he was off. (if you do not know the whole story check out my older post "just another chapter in our book...") He cried at the drop of a hat, he was not happy!(ever) Even soccer, his favorite thing in the world was not going so well. So on Wednesday of last week we sat him down and talked to him and asked what was going on?? His reply was so hard and sad to hear, he said that he was afraid of everything!! Everything that he went to do the first thing he thought was if this happens or that happens I will be hurt and have to go to the emergency room....what do you do to help your child with something like that?? I knew that he would be afraid of dogs and that it would take some time to get over but I never thought he would become this scared of everything type of kid. Warren is always a great daddy but that night he was the BEST!! He knew all the right words and all the ways to fix it. I know that we still have a little way to go with all of this but it has gotten so much better...so just pray for Tyler right now that he will get back to the fun, loving, sweetheart not afraid of anything little boy he was before that mean ole dog. ps. update on the dog for those of you that do not live here..it is back in the neighborhood and animal control told us if we ever see it off the chain to call and they will come pick it up..well silly people that did not do much good for Tyler seeing as how it was on the chain when it attacked him...

So Much To Do and SOO Little Time

So much to do and so little time...That is how I feel at any given time or even given day. As the summer approaches I am trying to get a lot done around the house..so that this summer it can be all about "fun in the sun", and day trips with the kids, just having a good summer doing a bunch of everything and a whole lot of nothing. A stay at home mother's job is never done. There is no time clock, sometimes no lunch, and it seems that some days last for weeks. If I am not sitting in car rider line waiting to pick up Tyler from school, I am being a soccer mom making sure that everyone gets to practice on time with all of their stuff, or doing the never ending pile of laundry, dishes(note to self call repairman dishwasher is broken) don't forget the parties at school were you need to bring cupcakes/cookies,cook dinner...on and on the list could go. The job is not glamorous and sometimes you do not get taken seriously, people think it is sitting around eating bon-bons all day and let me tell you its not! But I am VERY VERY BLESSED to be a stay at home mom...I thank God everyday !! I get to play, and love on my kids all day everyday. This job may not be glamorous but it has some GREAT benefits!!!

WOW are we really that old????

Warren celebrated his 31st birthday yesterday!! As you can see he is still just one big kid!!

That is one of the many things about him that makes him such a great husband and father...he does not take life too seriously.

We were talking last night and we have celebrated 16 birthdays together. (I do not feel that old!!) We have been through and lived through a lot together and I am thankful everyday that he was by my side through all of them.

So, as Tyler said yesterday "HAPPY BIRTHDAY OLE MAN"

We love you very much and you are appericated more then you know!!!

Just another chapter in our book...

Our spring break started off with a bang... or should I say a bark!! Last Saturday it was a beautiful day outside and we were all outside. The kids were playing and Warren and I were cleaning out our garage. Well Tyler had come and asked if he could go down the street to a friends that he knew from school and jump on their trampoline. I really hesitated, because we did not know the kid or the family or anything about them. But, against my better judgement I let him go thinking it is only a few houses down, it is not like he is going inside or anything.

Ten minutes later a truck pulled up in our driveway asking "is it your son that is at our house playing? He has just been bite by our dog and we've called 911." I have to admit I do not think it registered with me for minute because by the time it really sunk in Warren had already grabbed his keys and was backing out of the driveway. I got Emily Klair and we took off walking down to the house. By the time I got there I put Emmy Klair in the car I did not want her anywhere around the dog or the house at this point, as I was walking around the vehicle Warren came out carrying Tyler in his arms. That first look at him I was not so sure it was ok to be moving him, but thanks to "papa bear" (that is what Tyler and I decided Warren turns into when faced with an emergency that involves one of his kids) and his quick thinking he got us all in the car and even had peace of mind to run home and get a clean towel to wrap him up in.

This is the part of the story that is fun to hear Tyler tell so I will try and use his words here not mine. "Daddy got us in the car and yelled at momma to get in the back and take care of me." (In my defense I jumped in the driver side when I saw Warren carrying him out of the house ready to spin tires out of there.) "Then daddy turned on his blinking lights and went 70 passing cars and going through lights to get me to the hospital and they did not even make me put my seatbelt on." It was quite a ride let me tell you.

Thankful does not even begin to describe how we feel. The dog was an alaskan husky that outweighed Tyler by atleast 20lbs and stood on all fours about as tall as him. It could have been alot worse we feel blessed that it only took 15 staples to the head and that his arm did not need anything but cleaning and a big ole bandaid. Everyone has always told us that Warren and I need to write a book about everything that happens to us...so we now look at everything as just another chapter!
